3rd Floor external wall completed

My workers had completed the external walls for the 3rd floor except for the front middle wall which was left open to allow access of materials like cement plaster which was not done yet. My cement floor boards had arrived on Wednesday and I could only manage to get a mobile crane today to lift the boards to the respective floors. My workers will start fixing these boards tomorrow and screws will be used to fasten the cement board to the floor joists. My workers meanwhile are checking and strengthening the floor joists cum nesting planks before the cement boards are fixed.

Unique project commissioned

When I say that the unique project has been commisioned, I meant that the swiftlet shelter is ready to accept the swiftlets and both the internal and external sounds had been activated. This morning, me and my team fine tuned everything and get ready the shelter to receive the swiftlets. Timers to the amplifiers for internal and external sound were set and similarly the timers for the water fountains, exhaust fan and night light. The shelter was also sprayed with PW Concentrated aroma. Bird shits were put into plastic troughs and placed at regular intervals on the shelter floor. All these are done to create the right environment for the swiftlets to enter. The next few days I will be watching from far the swiftlets' response to the birdcall from the swiftlet shelter and I hopefully I will report back to my readers. In my photos you can see vertical and sloping galvanised steel members sticking out in the shelters and there are apprehension that swiftlets might collide with these members. My opinion is these members are spaced quite far apart and with the swiftlets ability to echolocate there won't be much of problem. Similarly, there is a comment from one of my readers that using gypsum board would cause wet rot if the humidity is too high. If my shelter is totally enclosed then using this board could be a bit a problem but my shelter as the readers can see is open and just part of the roof. I don't think the ceiling will get that wet until it cause wet rot. The space inside the roof in between the shelter is still spacious and is ideal for the birds to rove when they are inside the shelter.

This is the lobby into the nesting area. This are is semi-dark because
direct light from the entrance hole still penetrates this area. It will be
interesting to see whether the swiftlets will build their nest in this area.

However, once the swiftlets get used to them and with their echolocation ability
it won't be much of a hindrance to them to manouvre inside the dark shelter.

Brickwork has reached the 3rd. Floor

My workers had started laying bricks to the 3rd Floor external wall. At the same time another batch of workers is working on the 1st Floor perimeter gutter. This gutter will have multiple function which I will explain later.

Birdhouse revisited

Remember the smallest birdhouse that I have ever seen which I featured in one of my earlier post!?. I visited the birdhouse again last week and I observed changes being made to the entrance hole. In my earlier post I had said that I didn't know the condition of the birdhouse, whether successful or not?. However, seeing the changes made, I can assume that the owner has not been successful in attracting the swiftlets to stay in his birdhouse . The owner had closed the side entrance with timber planks and in return opened a hole on the roof next to it. The owner could be trying out the open air -well approach. Well, good luck to him.

A unique project

Today, I would like to share with my readers a unique project which I was entrusted to do. It is something of a challenge to me as this is not on the upper floor of a shophouse. The fact is it is inside the roof of one the buildings in town, a a swiftlet central area, which I will not reveal the location, for security and confidential reasons. The roof is full of trusses but I found the middle portion which can accomodate a swiftlet shelter and the size if equivalent to 1 floor of the shophouse. The roof is already insulated with aluminium insulation paper and wood wool but the temperature is still above the allowable limit for hosting swiftlet The humidity is the opposite, that is, below the allowable limit. Thus, it will be a challenge to get the temperature and humidity to the desired setting.

Works proceeding smoothly

My workers have almost finished the brickworks on the 2nd. Floor. They will take another day to complete the brickworks on this floor. I am waiting for the cement boards to arrive before proceeding to start brickworks for the 3rd. Floor. This is because I will be hiring a mobile crane to lift the cement boards to all the floors and at the same time lift the bricks to the 3rd. Floor As the works go higher, transporting materials up will be tougher and takes a longer time. The mobile crane will help to make the works lighter. Another batch of workers have also moved in and they are concentrating on building the RC gutter around the perimeter of 1st. Floor beam. This gutter besides collecting water dripping down from above also act as crawling insect trap. The gutter will be filled with a few inches of water acting like a moat. I intend to put flower pots inside this 2 feet wide gutter and plant climbers which will stick and finally covered the external walls.

My workers even worked on Friday which is a weekend in the state. This is to speed up the progress on site which had slowed down with this batch of bricklayers. My kepala realised
the slow progress and will be bringing in reinforcement today to expedite the works on site.

Why are Jews Smart ?

After staying in Israel for 3 years doing my housemanship in a few hospitals there , there a few things that attract my attention that made me do my thesis. Why are Jews Smart”. It cannot be denied that many intellectuals are Jews from all fields, engineering, music, scientist and the most outstanding in business where they are most famous. Almost 70% of the business in the world are controlled by the Jewish community, from cosmetic, clothings, food, arms, hospitality, Hollywood film industry dan others.

During my second year, at the end of December 1980 and at the time that I was comtemplating returning to California, I thought of why the Jews are so smart. Why God has given the privileges to them. Is it a coincidence? Or it is human’s own doing? Can smartness be generated?

I was moved to do a thesis for my Phd, besides for the well-being of mankind to live in harmony. For your information, my thesis took almost 8 years because i need to compile datas as accurate as possible.

Among the datas that I collected is food, culture, religion and early preparation for birth d and others and these datas I used to compare with other races and communities.

Let us start with the arrival of the new-born. In Isreal, after knowing that the mother is pregnant, what I observed first of all is the mother frequently sing dan play the piano and both parents will buy mathematics book and try to solve mathematical problems together. I was so surprised why my friend who is pregnant always bring along mathematics book and asked me questions that she cannot answer because she know I am really interested in mathematics.dan can surely help her. I asked her is this for your kid?. She answered , ‘Yes’, this is for my kid who is still in my womb. I am training his brain so that he will become a genuis when he grows up. This makes me attracted to follow her development. Back to mathematics, without feeling bored, she continued practising doing mathematics until she gave birth.

Another thing I observed is the food she eat since early pregnancy. She likes to eat almonds and dates with milk and during noon time the main food are bread wiith headless fish togeher with salad mixed with almonds and various types of nuts. According to her, fish meat is very good for brain development and fish head contains chemicals which are not good and can retard brain development of the baby in the womb. According to her, this is the tradition of the Jews while pregnant and it is compulsory for mothers who are pregnant to take fish oil..

When I was invited for dinner by the Jews, the first thing I observed is their menu. At every invitation I observed they like to take fish (only the meat or fillet) and normally other meat is absent if there is fish. According to them, a mixture of other meat and fish is not good to eat together. Salad and nuts is a neccessity, especially almond.

One thing that is unusual is that they will eat fruits first before they take the main servings. Don’t be surprised if you are invited to a Jew’s house and will be served fruits first. According to them eating carbohydrate (rice or bread) first and then fruits, will make you feel drowsy and weak dan difficult to study in school.

In Isreal, smoking is a taboo. If you are invited to dine in a Jew’s house, don’t smoke and they without feeling shy will ask you to go outside to smoke. According to scientist in the Univertsity of Israel, investigation has shown that nicotine can destroy the main cells of the human brain and stick to the gene. This means that the older generation of smokers will bring about future generations who are metally retarded (stupid and slow learning). This is one shocking finding by scientist who are doing research on genes and DNA and smokers should take heed. (Ironically, the biggest owner and manufacturer is ........ guess yourself..!)

My next observation is a visit to their kindergartens. The children’s food are strictly controlled. Early serving are fruits with almonds followed by taking cod liver oil. From my observation, Jewish children are very smart and they could undertstand 3 languages, namely, Hebrew, Arab and English. Since young, they had been trained to play the piano and voilin, which are compulsory. According to them, playing music and understanding the notes help to increase the children’s IQ and surely make them smart.

According to Jewish scientist, the music vibrations will stimulate (like a mind exercise) the mind and that is why there are many music genius from the Jewish community..

From standard 1 to 6, the Jewish children are taught mathematics with business concept and science subjects are given preferences. My personal observation, compared to children in California, there is a vast different in IQ, and I can say perhaps 6 years behind!!. All subjects are easily grasp by the Jewish children. Besides education, sports is also compulsory for them and the sports that were given emphasis are archery, shooting and running. According to my friend, archery and shooting will train the brain to focus on an object besides helping to prepare them for national service.

After this, my attention is drawn to the high school where the students are pressed to concentrate on science subjects. They are encouraged to invent products, all their projects though sometimes looks funny and weird but are treated seriously especially if it is in related to arms, medicine an engineering. These ideas are brought to the higher institute in the Polytechnic and University

Another emphasis is on the business faculty. I was so surprised to see them so aggressive and serious in doing business. In my last year in university, the students doing business studies are asked to carry out a project and manage them and they will only pass if their group (10 of them) can make a profit of $US 1 million. Are you shocked? Its a fact, with a worldwide network and fully sponsored by Jewish-owned companies, it is not a surprise that they controlled half of the world business. Who designed the latest Levis? They are invented in the University of Isreal by the Faculty of Business and Fashion.

Have you seen how the Jews perform their prayers?. One of the ways is to shake their heads which according to them will activate their brain and add oxygen to their head. Many religion in the Middle East, like Islam also asked their followers to bow or shake their heads, so as to stimulate their brain to be more active. Look at the Japanese, they always bow and it has been their custom. Many Japanese are clever? Or is it a coincidence?. Their favourite is sushi (raw fish). Is it a coincidence?. Think about it!.

Based in New York, the Jewish Chamber of Commerce is willing to help those who are interested to do business (surely only Jews) if they have any intelligent ideas. The committee will give them loan without interest and an officer from the committee will work with them to make sure that their business are on the right track. That is how Starbuck, Dell Computer, Coca Cola, DKNY, Oracle, The Hollywood film industry, Levis, Dunkin Donut and hundreds of famous name under the auspices of the Jewish chamber of Commerce in New York are born. Jewish graduates from the New York Medical Faculty are asked to register with this organization dan encouraged to set up their own clinic and given financial aids without interest. That is why, which I only get to know later, always caused a shortage of specialist doctors in New York and Chicago.

The conclusion, from my theory, having children and descendants that are smart can be done and surely not overnight. It needs time and perhaps a few generations?. Early preparation is when the mother is pregnant, encourage the mother to practise simple but consistent mathematics besides listening to classical music. The next thing to do is change the diet. Eat proper food that are nutritious to the brain. Appreciating music from small are very good for the children’s brain development and by playing piano and voilin will train the children to activate their brain together with playing sports which required high concentration like archery, basketball, dart and shooting.

Smoking will cause the generation to become moron dan surely the stupid gene and will follow the generation of smokers. My visit to Singapore in 2005 surprised me a lot. Here, the smokers are like outcast and its difficult for the smokers and do you know how much is a packet of cigarettes? US$7.!!!. Its like the cost of 1 day spending on food!!!! I praised the Singapore Goverment and its very impressive!!!. And like Isreal, it is so taboo. In terms of admistration and education, they are similar with Isreal. That’s way I saw many of their instituition of learning are world standards considering the fact that Singapore is only an island as big as Manhattan!!!.

You could be wondering that smoking will give rise to a generation of moroon. I have found a few evidence supporting my theory. Look just at Indonesia. If you are in Jakarta, wherever you go, from restaurant, theater, parks to museum, your nose will smell of cigarettes smoke!. And the price of cigarettes? Only $US0.70cts!!! And the result?. With a population of millions of people how many university are there?. What result to be proud of? Technology? Far from this. Can they speak other language beside their mother tongue?. Why have they got difficulty in mastering English? What rank are they in the work mathematic competition? Is this not because of smoking? Think yourself.

In my thesis, I did not touch on religion or race. Are jews so cruel that they are being driven away since the time of the Pharoahs till Hitler. For me that is politics and survival. What I want to drive across is that we are capable to give birth to a generation which are as smart as the Jews? The answer is probable and not impossible and it need changes, from diet and educating the young which I counted would take only 3 generations. This can be seen in my grand child that is after teaching my child using the program that I had advocated above, by 9 years old (my grand child) can write essay full 5 pages writing only on “ Why I like Tomato”.

My well wishes and hope that we will produce humans who are smart and honest for the good of mankind, ignoring racial barriiers

Progress Photo Update

I managed to get a replacement for my old camera and have taken a few progress photos for my readers to see.

Yesterday while on assignment in call I received 2 calls from my readers, one call from Zamri who is going to set up a BH is Bachok and another call from Nokenzo asking me to translate for him the article ' Why are Jews Clever or rather Smart?' into English. It was only then that I realised that I had a small group of diehard followers who are following my blog. Thank you to all of you. I am just sharing my experience and thoughts, nothing less and nothing more. and everybody is free either to agree and to accept or otherwise. However, a word of appreciation would be most encouraging. To nokenzo, I will translate for you but give me sometime to do it.

I would also like to draw my readers attention to the forum in Lowyat Net on swiftlet farming where one of the forum members have been maliciously attacking a fellow blogger and which I feel is not true. I could not stand reading the forum anymore and I decided to step in to explain what is not right and thanks to chiongguo who has been very articulate in moderating the forum and finally this forum member and those influenced by him had come to their senses.

My birdhouse is progressing smoothly. My workers have started brickwork on the 2nd Floor and at the same time is finishing works on the floor joists and struts cum nesting planks. I could not show any progress photos at the moment as my camera has bent sent to the photo shop for repair. My camera got 'lens error'.

Away from swiftlet farming, I have got something to share and this is especially for young parents who want to have bright kids. This article below which was emailed to me by a Malay friend is in Bahasa Malaysia and if you need me to translate, just give me a call.

"Mengapa Yahudi Bijak ?

Setelah berada 3 tahun di Israel kerana menjalani housemanship di beberapa hospital di sana, ada beberapa perkara yang menarik dapat saya perhatikan untuk dijadikan tesis ini, iaitu "Mengapa Yahudi Bijak?". Hampir 70% perniagaan di dunia dikuasai oleh kaum Yahudi, dari kosmetik, pakaian, pemakanan, senjata, perhotelan, perfileman di Hollywood dan sebagainya.

Ketika tahun kedua, akhir bulan December 1980 dan sedang saya menghitung hari untuk pulang ke California saya terfikir apakah sebabnya kaum Yahudi begitu pintar? Kenapa tuhan memberi kelebihan kepada mereka? Apakah ini suatu kebetulan? Atau olah manusia sendiri? Adakah bijak boleh dijana? Seperti kilang pengeluaran?

Maka saya pun tergerak membuat tesis untuk Phd saya, di samping kebaikan untuk umat sejagat dan dapat hidup secara harmoni. Untuk pengetahuan anda tesis yang saya lakukan ini mengambil masa hampir lapan tahun, ini kerana untuk mengumpulkan data-data yang setepat mungkin.

Antara data-data yang saya kumpulkan ialah pemakanan, adat resam, agama, persiapan awal untuk melahirkan zuriat dan sebagainya dan data-data tadi saya cuba bandingkan dengan bangsa dan kaum kaum lain.

Marilah kita mulakan dengan persiapan awal melahirkan zuriat. Di Israel, setelah mengetahui yang si ibu sedang mengandung, pertama kali saya perhatikan ialah, si ibu akan sering menyanyi dan bermain piano dan si ibu dan bapa akan membeli buku metamatik dan menyelesaikan masalah metamatik bersama suami. Saya sungguh hairan kerana teman saya yang mengandung sering membawa buku metamatik dan bertanya kepada saya beberapa soalan yang beliau tak dapat menyelesaikanya, oleh kerana saya memang minat tentang metamatik, tentu saja dengan senang saya bantu beliau. Saya bertanya kepada beliau, adakah ini untuk anak kamu? Beliau menjawab, "ya, ini untuk anak saya yang masih di dalam kandungan, saya sedang melatih otak beliau, semoga dia menjadi genius apabila dewasa kelak". Perkara ini membuat saya tertarik untuk mengikut perkembangan beliau seterusnya. Berbalik kepada metamatik tadi, tanpa merasa jenuh beliau membuat latihan metamatik sehingga beliau melahirkan anak.

Seperkara lagi yang saya perhatikan ialah pemakanan beliau, sejak awal mengandung beliau gemar sekali memakan kacang badam dan kurma bersama susu, dan untuk tengah hari makan utama beliau ialah roti dan ikan tanpa kepala bersama salad yang digaul dengan badam dan berbagai jenis kekacang, menurut beliau daging ikan sungguh baik untuk perkembangan otak dan kepala ikan mengandungi kimia yang tidak baik yang dapat merosakkan pengembangan dan penumbuhan otak anak di dalam kandungan. menurut beliau ini adalah adat orang orang Yahudi ketika mengandung dan ianya menjadi semacam kewajipan untuk ibu-ibu yang sedang mengandung mengambil pil minyak ikan.

Ketika saya diundang untuk makan malam bersama orang orang Yahudi, perkara pertama yang saya perhatikan ialah menu mereka. Setiap undangan yang sama perhatikan ialah mereka gemar sekali memakan ikan (hanya isi atau fillet) dan biasanya daging tidak akan ada bersama dimeja jika ada ikan, menurut mereka, campuran daging dan ikan tak elok dimakan bersama. Menurut mereka, dengan memakan hidangan kabohidrat (nasi atau roti) dahulu kemudian buah-buahan, ini akan menyebabkan kita merasa mengantuk dan lemah dan payah untuk memahami pelajaran di sekolah.

Di Israel, merokok adalah taboo, apabila anda diundang makan dirumah Yahudi, jangan sekali kali merokok, dan tanpa malu mereka akan menyuruh anda keluar dari rumah mereka dan merokok di luar rumah mereka. Menurut saintis di Universiti Israel, siasatan menunjukkan nikotin dapat merosakkan sel utama pada otak manusia dan akan melekat pada gen, ini bermakna keturunan perokok bakal membawa generasi yang cacat otak (bodoh atau lembab). Suatu penemuan yang dahsyat ditemui oleh saintis yang mendalami bidang gen dan DNA. Para perokok harap ambil perhatian. (Ironinya, pemilik pengeluar rokok terbesar adalah …… tekalah sendiri..!)

Perhatian saya selanjutnya ialah melawati tadika mereka, Pemakanan anak-anak tadi cukup dikawal, makanan awal ialah buah-buahan bersama kacang badam, diikuti dengan menelan pil minyak ikan (code oil lever) Di dalam pengamatan saya, kanak Yahudi sungguh bijak dan rata-rata mereka memahami 3 bahasa iaitu Hebrew, Arab dan Inggeris dan sedari awal lagi mereka telah dilatih bermain piano dan violin, ini adalah suatu kewajipan. Menurut mereka bermain muzik dan memahami nota-notanya dapat meningkatkan lagi IQ kanak-kanak dan sudah tentu bakal menjadikan budak itu bijak.

Ini menurut saintis Yahudi, gegaran muzik dapat stimulate (semacam senaman untuk otak) maka itu terdapat ramai sekali genius muzik terdiri daripada kaum Yahudi.

Seterusnya ke darjah 1 hingga 6, anak-anak Yahudi akan diajar metamatik berkonsepkan perniagaan dan pelajaran sains amatlah diberi keutamaan. Di dalam perhatian peribadi saya, perbandingan dengan anak-anak di California, ianya jauh berbeza tentang IQ dan boleh saya katakan 6 tahun kebelakang!! !. Segala pelajaran akan dengan mudah ditangkap oleh anak Yahudi. Selain dari pelajaran tadi sukan juga menjadi kewajipan bagi mereka dan sukan yang diberi keutamaan ialah memanah, menembak dan berlari, menurut teman saya ini, memanah dan menembak dapat melatih otak memfokus sesuatu perkara disamping mempermudahkan persiapan untuk perhidmatan negara.

Selanjutnya pemerhatian saya menuju ke sekolah tinggi (menengah) disini murid-murid ditekan dengan pelajaran mata sains dan mereka digalakkan mencipta produk, segala projek mereka walaupun kadangkala kelihatannya lucu dan mengarut, tetap diteliti dengan serius apatah lagi ianya berupa senjata, perubatan dan kejuruteraan, idea itu akan dibawa ke institut tinggi di Politeknik dan Universiti.

Satu lagi yang diberi keutamaan ialah fakulti perniagaan. Saya sungguh terperanjat melihat mereka begitu agresif dan seriusnya mereka tentang perniagaan. Di akhir tahun di universiti, para penuntut di bidang niaga dikehendaki melakukan projek dan memperaktikkanya dan anda hanya akan lulus jika kumpulan anda (10 pelajar setiap kumpulan) dapat keuntungan sebanyak $US1juta! Anda terperanjat? Itulah kenyataan, dengan rangkaian seluruh dunia dan ditaja sepenuhnya oleh syarikat milik Yahudi, maka tidak hairanlah mereka dapat menguasai ½ perniagaan di dunia! Siapakah yang mencipta design Levis yang terkini? Ianya dicipta di Universiti Israel oleh fakulti bisnes dan fesyen.

Pernahkah anda melihat cara orang Yahudi melakukan ibadah mereka? Salah satu caranya ialah dengan menggoyangkan kepala mereka, menurut mereka ini dapat mengaktifkan otak mereka dan menambahkan oksigen di kepala, banyak agama lain di Timur Tengah, seperti Islam juga ada menyuruh umatnya menunduk atau menggoyangkan kepala, ini guna dapat mensimulasikan otak kita supaya bertambah aktif. Lihat orang-orang Jepun, mereka sering menunduk-nundukkan kepala dan ianya sebagai adat. Ramai orang orang Jepun yang pandai? Adakah ianya sebagai kebetulan? Kegemaran mereka ialah sushi (ikan mentah). Adakah ini kebetulan? Fikirkanlah!

Berpusat di New York, Dewan perniagaan Yahudi bersedia membantu mereka yang berminat untuk melakukan bisnes (sudah tentu untuk Yahudi sahaja) jika mereka ada idea yang bernas, jawatankuasa akan memberi pinjaman tanpa faedah dan pentadbir dari jawatankuasa tadi akan bekerjasama dengan anda untuk memastikan yang perniagaan mereka menurut landasan yang betul. Maka itu lahirlah Starbuck, Dell Computer, Cocacola, DKNY, Oracle, Perfileman di Hollywood, Levis, Dunkin Donut dan ada beratus kedai ternama dibawah naungan dewan perniagaan Yahudi di New York. Graduan Yahudi dari fakulti perubatan New York akan disarankan untuk mendaftar di persatuan ini dan digalakkan memulakan klinik mereka sendiri dengan bantuan wang tanpa faedah, barulah saya tahu mengapa hospital di New York dan California sentiasa kekurangan doktor pakar.

Kesimpulanya, pada teori saya, melahirkan anak dan keturunan yang bijak boleh dilaksanakan dan tentunya bukan semalaman, ianya memerlukan masa, beberapa generasi mungkin? Persiapan awal adalah ketika si ibu mengandung, galakkanlah si ibu melakukan latihan metamatik yang mudah tetapi konsisten disamping mendengar muzik klasik. Seterusnya ubahlah cara pemakanan, makanlah makanan yang elok dan berhasiat yang baik untuk otak, menghayati muzik sejak kecil adalah baik sekali untuk penumbuhan otak kanak-kanak, dengan bermain piano dan violin sudah tentu dapat melatih anak-anak mencerdaskan otak mereka demikian juga sukan yang memerlukan konsentrasi yang tinggi, seperti memanah, bola keranjang, dart dan menembak.

Merokok menjanjikan generasi yang moron (goblok) dan sudah tentu gen bodoh akan mengikut ke generasi si perokok. Lawatan saya ke Singapura pada tahun 2005 amat memeranjatkan sekali, di sini perokok seperti dianak-tirikan dan begitu susah sekali untuk perokok dan anda tahu berapa harga sekotak rokok? US$ 7 !!! Ini bersamaan perbelanjaan sehari untuk makan anda!! Saya puji sekali sikap pemerintah Singapura dan menakjubkan sekali!!! Dan seperti Israel ianya begitu taboo dan cara pentadbiran dan segi pembelajaran mereka hampir serupa dengan Israel, maka itu saya lihat banyak institusi pelajaran mereka bertaraf dunia walaupun hakikatnya negeri Singapura hanyalah sebuah pulau sebesar Manhattan!!

Anda mungkin musykil, benarkah merokok dapat melahirkan generasi goblok, saya telah menemui beberapa bukti menyokong teori ini. Lihat saja Indonesia, jika anda ke Jakarta, dimana saja anda berada, dari restoran, teater, kebun bunga hingga ke muzium hidung anda akan segera terbau asak rokok! Dan harga rokok? Cuma US$ .70cts !!! Dan hasilnya? Dengan penduduknya berjumlah jutaan orang berapa banyakkah universiti terdapat di sana? Hasil apakah yang dapat dibanggakan? Teknologi? Jauh sekali. Adakah mereka dapat berbahasa selain dari bahasa mereka sendiri? Mengapa mereka begitu sukar sekali menguasai bahasa Inggeris? Di tangga berapakah kedudukan mereka dipertandingan metamatik sedunia? Adakah ini bukan akibat merokok? Anda fikirlah sendiri. (Fikirkan lah ek Pogi dan perokok2 tegar semua)

Di tesis saya ini, saya tidak akan menimbulkan soal agama atau bangsa, adakah Yahudi itu zalim sehingga diusir dari semenjak zaman Firaun hingga ke Hitler, bagi saya itu isu politik dan survival, yang ingin saya ketengahkan ialah, mampukah kita dapat melahirkan generasi yang bijak seperti Yahudi? Jawapannya ialah mungkin dan tidak mustahil dan ianya memerlukan perubahan, dari segi pemakanan dan cara mendididik anak dan saya kira hanya memerlukan 3 generasi sahaja. Ini dapat saya lihat sendiri tentang cucu saya, ini setelah saya mengajar anak saya melalui program yang telah saya nyatakan di atas tadi, pada umur 9 tahun (cucu saya) dia dapat menulis esay sepanjang 5 muka surat penuh. Esaynya hanyalah mengenai Mengapa saya gemarkan tomato!

Perak Politics - Defections and Crossovers

Here's one of the most sensible post that I have come across and worth reading.

"If you could learn anything from the recent political fiasco in Perak, defection or crossover is wrong. No matter which side you are, the implications will be huge and it will always be negative. Imagine if 16 September 2008 actually happen. You think UMNO supporters will sit quietly and let it be without responding? No, there will be public unrest and demonstrations just like what you see in Perak yesterday. Worst still, UMNO might even declare a state of Emergency and marshall law will take over.

While I must admit that I was once all for Pakatan Rakyat ruling the country and I dreamed of 16 September to happen, I forgot one thing. And Anwar seemed to miss this too. Defections, it works both way. He can entice BN politician to cross over to his side so does BN, vice versa. You can argue that Anwar didn't dangle 50 million in front of the potential defectors nor did his threatened them by force. But knowing BN and UMNO especially, they'd do anything to cling on to power. The end justifies the mean and nothing else matters. The crux of the matter is Anwar failed and UMNO with it's near unlimited resources succeeded. End of story.

As much as I hate to admit this, Karpal Singh has been right all along. Defections is wrong. There's no two way about it. The best way to change any government is through the ballot boxes. Now I'm all for this anti-hopping law. Politicians just cannot be trusted.

My advice to Pakatan Rakyat leaders in Perak or anywhere, just let it go and move along. You can protest and resist until the cows come home. You can drag His Highness to court and even win your case. But at the end of the day, you'll going to need His Majesty's blessing to form a government whether state or national. Do you guys really want to continue doing this and incur the wrath of the Ruler? Calm down and get your acts together. If you really want to take back Perak, do it properly and peacefully through the State Assembly. Ask for a vote of no confidence against the BN government and get 3 or more ADUN to support you. That would be a more civilized way to do it and what's more you'll get a much better chance to get the Sultan's nod. All those demonstration and protest will get you nowhere. You will not get back Perak or the Ruler's approval by civil unrest. Yes we all know UMNO are crooks and evil and they play dirty but do you want to stoop to their level as well? Here's another post that caught my attention.

"The Perak political situation is an interesting albeit amusing episode in our political history. Like Tun Dr Mahathir, many would be amused with the current development, particularly the inconsistency in the opposition rationale.

When the Opposition led by Anwar campaiged to get BN MPs to jump party, it was acceptable. But when it hit them on the face, it is no more acceptable. Only now they want to play the moral high ground?

All the rationale the opposition have offered could be turned around by their own previous remark. Face fact. This is realpolitik at work. No dicky do but bare knuckle against bare knuckle. The loser can go cry baby for all. It is Anwar out-manouvred, out-witted and eating humble pie.

By merely compiling the words of the Opposition Leaders and personalities from the day Anwar launched his jump party psywar campaign on April 14th, 2008 Black 14 night at Kelab Sultan Sulaiman till his targeted September 16th, 2008 and the day YB Nasaruddin's made his "brief 11 day foray" into PKR, all their rhetorics could be dismissed easily.

To blame the episode to BN, remember the one that swing it to BN are not BN ADUNs but Independents. Should it be convenient to lay any blame, perhaps blame it on "Ibrahim Ali". He, He, and He!

One can make all the legal arguments, but it is still interpretations. For instance, blogger Lawyer Kampung presented legal quotes to support the Sultan's authority as provided for and do we not remember he is our former Lord President. Kim Quek article found in blog Dandelion believed there is a technical error.

The arguments boiled down to formalities. Tuanku Sultan made wise decision beyond merely legal consideration. HRH may have considered the practical decision in line with Dr Mahathir's cynical question: Will Pakatan Rakyat Government (or former Government) convene the Dewan Undangan Negeri Perak?

Hidden behind the justifications of law or administrative precedents, it is realpolitik in play. It is the reality of politics and the political game. In another words, it is the strategy and tactical arts of politics over the science (rationale or justification) of politics.

When it comes to realpolitik, shouldn't we accord the title grandmaster in the art of party hopping to Anwar Ibrahim. He conducted the "Jump Party Orchestra" in 1994 Sabah that brought four Sabah PBS ADUN into UMNO for UMNO takeover.

Tengku Razaleigh who with Tun are the concern voices of this latest political development. Is it not essentially the same with his involvement with the 1976 manouvre that lead to PAS downfall in Kelantan via Berjasa?

To the chagrin of the loser, all is fair in the world of realpolitik as long it is done within the ambit of the law and administrative precedent. There is no different in the case of Perak. Anwar has to face fact that he was out-witted by his former Naib Ketua Pemuda, Dato Seri Najib in his own game.

He is left with only one option that is to directly or indirectly sue the Sultan. Good luck because he'll never win!"

Smallest birdhouse that I have ever seen

On my way back from Dungun, using the Kuala Dungun - Seberang Pintasan new bridge and side trekking to Teluk Bidara, a beautiful beach just next to the famous Tanjong Jara Beach Resort, I discovered a cute little birdhouse, the one and only birdhouse in that area. This is the smallest BH that I have ever seen. This BH is in operation judging from the external sound blasting out loudly at 12.00 noon, the time that I passed this place. I didn't stop to find out whether it is a successful BH as there are nobody on sight to ask. If this is a successful BH with say 100 nests in the 1st. year, I would rather have 10 of these BHs than to have a single 20' x 80' three storey BH. I would also recommend that the government build this type of BH for the hardcore poor to compliment their PPRT house. I will try to find out more about this BH the next time I pass this place.

Bricklaying still concentrated on 1st. Floor

My workers had finished laying about 75% of the brickwork on the 1st. Floor. For me, the progress is slightly slow and I had instructed my kepala to expedite the brickwork. He will be reinforcing this batch of bricklayers with more efficient bricklayers next week and hopefully they can complete the brickwork by mid-February 2009.

Relative Humidity. How to get it right?

While browsing through Lowyat.Net, I came across the post below by 'chiongguo' which I feel all my readers should read. It is an explanation which makes sense and has not been published before.

"I think misting system doesn't work well and often resulted in mould. Even with a hygrostat the control is very bad.

I am now designing my first BH and had considered a number of systems and misting system definitely, in my considered opinion, to be the worst approach to use. Let me explain a bit about the physics of relative humidity and from this we can get some understanding of the various systems that can be designed.

Humidity means basically the amount of water vapour in the air. At any one temperature the air can hold a certain maximum of such water vapour. As an eg. at 30 degC the air can hold AT MOST 30 g/m^3. If there is only 15 g/m^3 of water vapour than the relative humidity is 50%.

If this air is in an enclosed box and inside this box is a pool of water. The water in the enclosed box will evaporate until it reaches 30 g/m^3. The relative humidity now will be 100%.

If you now poke a hole in the box the relative humdity will start to drop until the amount of water vapour evaporated is equal to those lost through the hole. So in order to ensure that you get 80% relative humidity we could make the hole smaller or increase the rate of evaporation. Rate of evaporation can be achieved by increasing the surface area of the water exposed to the air.

Blowing water into the air will increase the relative humidity and often to saturation (100%) and even with a hygrostat it will always over compensate due to what engineers called transport lag. As the water vapour blown into the air is quite large droplets it will not remain in the air for long. If you want water vapour to remain much longer an ultrasonic misting/humidifier has to be used. This can be quite expensive.

I read in a indon book that what they do in indonesia was to lay on the floor jude cloth that is wet by pools of water. But as bird pooh will drop onto the jude, over time it can be a stinking mess that is almost impossible to clean. Finally I came up with a design, just completed the installation yesterday, where a small channel of water is placed along the wall (about 4 feet off the ground). I use the rain drainage channel to hold the water. And over the sides I will drape cheap dish washing cloth. The water will soak the cloth and the water will evaporate from the surface of the cloth. The water in the channel is controlled by a float valve.

I had tested the system in my kitchen and it worked. I recorded an evaporative rate of 200g of water over a 12 hour period(morning till evening) for a 2 sq.ft of cloth area.

We can control the surface area to control the relative humidity. Once this is established the relative humidity will remain quite stable over a temperature range. It is all natural and everything is self-adjusting. Environmentally friendly just like in natural caves.

Air entering into the BH is often quite dry and to ensure that the fluctuation is not too drastic I bought a water tank and placed it at the roving area."

I fully agreed with 'chiongguo' on his explanation on relative humidity and ways to control them. That is why some BHs have water tubs and pools inside the nesting area. Having water flowing down the wall and water fountains will increase the surface area of water which in turn will increase the rate of evaporation and help the BHs to achieve the desired relative humidity. The rate of evaporation depends on the size of the entrance hole. A bigger entrance hole means that the rate of evaporation is higher and surface area of water has to be increased through more water features mentioned earlier and vice versa. .

'chiongguo' had further discussed on the use of ventilation holes. This is what he had said which I fully agreed with him.

"I notice and had seen a number of designs of ventilation holes and the reason for ventilation holes was for heat ventilation. If you have more holes, then your relative humidity will drop. I think Harry often suggested closing those holes and he was actually right but I read in other places a lot of these consultants were insulting his advice. Actually what he adviced was correct.

If you are using these holes for getting rid of heat from WITHIN the BH than the strategy will not work. The solution will cause more problems than solve.

Heat MUST BE PREVENTED from reaching the BH at all cost - this means insulation.

Now if you have a double wall than the ventilation holes will reduce the heat from reaching into the BH and turbulence and lost of relative humidity will not be a problem.

A very strange design was to have a long pipe from the inside wall to the outside wall and the person explained to me it was to get rid of the heat inside. More often than not the heat outside is higher and it will flow inwards rather than outwards.

For maintaining temperature below 31 degC , HEAT MUST BE PREVENTED FROM ENTERING THE BH.

Air-conditioning etc. are a waste and in the long term expensive."

This is the reason why I am not using ventilation holes in my BH design. Look out for how I will control the temperature and relative humidity. It will be slightly different from the norm.
